Robbie-2 , originally uploaded by A Girl Named Ruth ;o) . Well... when I was asked to do this shoot... didn't quite know what to say.. but what the heck I went for it. Rather fun shoot.. managed to keep professional at all times.. hard job but someone has to do it!

I've not entered many competitions of late, for one I've been to busy but another because the standards have got higher and I needed to push myself further in photography! I entered this image for last months competition and am delighted to say it achieved GOLD in Portrait Studio. It will now be published in the Society of Weddings and Portrait Photographers magazine!

I have the pleasure of training with an amazing inspirational photographer.. Damian McGillicuddy whom is world wide known in photography :) I recently did another training day with Damian and this is one of the images I've done for my homework on lighting techniques.. hopefully he likes it as much as I do!

So much to do so little time! I've been so busy so far this year getting the business up and running and with shoots... hopefully it's a sign of things to come! I have to say I'm loving it! I have also been undertaking some training... with Damian McGillicuddy I've been on two training days with Damian and have to say hopefully I'm reaping the benefits from his mentoring, both in the business and the technical side! Even though I earned my LSWPP last year, I can't sit back and relax.. I have to improve not just for myself but I owe my clients the best. I hope that my work will continue to get better and that when clients book me again they'll get something even more special than the first time!!! Watch this space.....

Had to share this image of Rosie who I photographed today - it wasn't actually snowing and Rosie had to have talc applied to give her that extra lovely white look ... some actually rubbed off on the stable door, making it look as if it was frosty.. so I added the snow ;)
